Jan & Todd Ostrom

Jan’s journey to becoming a catering chef happened as naturally as her life-long love of cooking. After raising their children, Jan & Todd’s first catering jobs were humble, such as cooking and delivering meals for fundraisers. It wasn’t long before word of their delicious food spread.

The couple added an additional licensed commercial kitchen to the back of their home in 2002 and by 2004, Busy Bee Catering opened for business. Todd designed a mobile kitchen for off-site catering and had it built and licensed to health code specifications. Busy doesn’t begin to describe the next decade. From the mountain to the coast and everywhere in between Jan and Todd’s colorful platters and signature Busy Bee van buzzed all over the Northwest.

In 2020, the couple happened upon a well-loved local restaurant for sale; they made an offer at once. The dream of finally having a commercial home for their thriving catering enterprise was about to become reality.

The transformation of the former Still Creek Inn (originally the Alpine Hut) into the current multipurpose event space spanned nearly two years. Todd tackled the remodel and Jan kept the vision steady to bring this new commercial kitchen and event space to life.

Busy Bee Catering recently celebrated 25 years in business. The Ostrom’s next chapter has them continuing to serve their off-site catering anywhere they can go and swinging the doors at Alpine Events wide open for the public to enjoy their new venture.

By choosing Alpine Events for your next gathering you will enjoy a tried-and-true recipe for success, equal parts delicious food and unforgettable hospitality.
